The Chilean National Office for Emergency is part of the Ministry of Interior and Public Security. It is in charge of coordinating the National Civil Protection System. The mission of ONEMI is to plan, prompt, articulate and execute prevention, response andrehabilitation actions for collective risk situations, emergencies, disasters and catastrophes, both natural and manmade. The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) is the cabinet-level administrative office in charge of planning, studying, designing and constructing as well as repairing, maintaining and operating public infrastructure in Chile. Its work embraces roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, airports and airfields. It is also responsible for the management, distribution, use and conservation of all water resources within the country and for enforcing the national water code. Its mission also considers new public building and the enhancement of existing buildings that have certain economic character. The National Forest Corporation or CONAF (Corporación Nacional Forestal) is a Chilean private, non-profit organization, through which the Chilean state contributes to the development and sustainable management of the country's forest resources. CONAF is overseen and funded by the Ministry of Agriculture of Chile.
